More than two thirds of Americans are living with digestive issues. The effects of gas, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhea are felt by millions.
Doctor’s offices and hospitals are filled to the brim with patients searching for answers. Digestive disease is an epidemic — an epidemic that modern medicine cannot fix.
Trillions of dollars are spent on over-the-counter and prescription meds, tests, procedures, and surgeries. Doctors and patients spend countless hours trying to put an end to digestive disease. Despite this, patients continue to get sicker and sicker.
The current gastroenterology model is broken. As doctors, we are taught to diagnose symptoms. The diagnosis may be IBS, GERD, Barrett’s Esophagus, Fatty Liver. It could be prostate cancer, Alzheimer’s, depression, or fibromyalgia. Once a diagnosis is made, next comes a drug, a test, or a procedure to address the diagnosis. The problem is that this type of medicine doesn’t work.
Once a diagnosis is made, it is easier to practice medicine, because the treatment plan is set. But most of the time, this plan is simply a band aid, it doesn’t address the CAUSE of the signs and symptoms. When the cause is not identified and reversed, healing can never happen.
I became a gastroenterologist because I wanted to help people. I wanted to be a missionary doctor and go to foreign countries. What I quickly realized was that my mission was right here in my own backyard. After ten years of medical training, I started my own practice. I was seeing patients day in and day out, who were coming in with all sorts of digestive issues, gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, IBS, acid reflux, indigestion, being overweight, tired, no energy, they just don’t feel good. In fact, they felt horrible. They felt like they had no life.
I prescribed medicines like candy and they still came back with the same symptoms. Soon even younger people were coming in with the same issues that their parents and their grandparents were having. They were tired and had no energy, and they thought it was normal because all of their family and friends felt the same way. I knew I was missing something, I knew something was not right.
When I started on this journey to natural medicine, all I knew was what I learned in medical school, in my internal medicine residency, and in my gastroenterology fellowship training. I learned how to prescribe medications so well I could do it in my sleep. I learned how to do an amazing colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. Little did I know that there was more to it than just prescribing medications and doing procedures.
I remember the day in 2008, when I approached Tina (my wife and Office Manager). I told her, I need help, I have to figure out why my patients are so sick and not getting better. I remember her face as she looked at me and said, I don’t know you’re the doctor you tell me.
That’s the day we started our journey to discover the truth. I wanted so badly to help my patients, help anyone that was coming to me, people just like you. I wanted to do more than just a bunch of procedures and prescribe drugs and medicines. I truly wanted to help people get well. Tina became so passionate about what we were learning she became certified in holistic nutrition and today she is by my side as we transform lives one person at a time.
This is my powerful story that is filled with passion and commitment. It’s the same passion and commitment that has gotten me to where I am today. We are changing people’s lives with what we are doing here. From the launch of our 4-step system we have changed so many people’s lives.
People are feeling better, they are calling us and coming to the office crying because they can’t remember the last time they felt so good. Their digestive issues are a thing of the past. They haven’t slept so well in years. Their aches and pains are gone. They can’t even remember having this much energy. They feel amazing!!! That’s why you’re reading this right now, because we want to help you feel amazing too! Are you ready?
